About the TSU Public Safety Officer Position

TSU Protection Services provides contracted public safety services to the Clifton City Improvement District, supporting the City of Cape Town through additional public safety services.

Public Safety Officers operate in public areas including beaches, car parks, roads and green open spaces. The team provides a visible security presence designed to deter crime while assisting people who live, work or visit the area.

The public safety operation runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with officers supported by a surveillance centre and CCTV monitoring.

This seasonal position is therefore suited to candidates who are comfortable working in an active outdoor environment and understand the responsibilities associated with public safety and security.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining a safe and secure public environment.

Depending on operational requirements, duties may include:

Conducting visible patrols in public spaces.
Patrolling beaches, roads, car parks and green areas.
Maintaining a strong security presence to deter criminal activity.
Remaining alert and responsive while on duty.
Assisting residents, property owners and visitors when required.
Communicating proactively with relevant team members.
Observing and reporting incidents or suspicious activity.
Working with the wider public safety team and surveillance centre.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

PSIRA Registration

Candidates must hold Grade B security registration and be PSIRA registered and up to date.

Education

A Grade 12 qualification is required.

Candidates should also have:

The ability to work independently.
Good attention to detail.
A proactive approach to communication.
A neat and presentable appearance.
A clear criminal record.
The ability to meet work requirements without constant supervision.
