Drake Training Academy is an authorized training organization, registered in South Africa with the Services SETA (S.SETA: 13507). In addition to assisting companies in recruiting top talent, we also help them retain their best staff through our training courses.
I am grateful to Drake Training Academy for their confidence in me and for allowing me to complete the Generic Management NQF 4 course. It was a wonderful educational journey. “Knowledge is Power,” and I would gladly do it again if given the opportunity.
Olga Siwisa, a Generic Management NQF 4 student, highlights learnerships at DTA and the resulting tax benefits.
Tax breaks (s12H) allow companies to get up to R80,000 in tax allowances for each learnership (or R120,000 for each disabled learner). Finishing a learnership also lowers your tax by R22,400 for learners without disabilities or R33,600 for disabled learners.
What you pay employees on learnerships counts towards your spending goals. If an employee earning R10,000 per month is in a learnership, their full year’s salary of R120,000 counts as skills development spending, without additional costs.
The Employment Tax Incentive helps businesses financially when they hire young South Africans, making monthly salaries cheaper.

Certain companies can earn twice the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) points from one learnership program, as both the money spent and the number of trainees contribute to their targets. If an unemployed trainee finds work, companies can receive additional bonus points, making their investment more valuable.
Simani, who is studying Generic Management at NQF 3, expressed enthusiasm for learning new concepts and appreciated the pleasant classroom setting.
DTA has a demonstrated history of collaborating with various clients on numerous learnership initiatives.
We work hard to make sure our students are treated well and with respect.
